Former Super Eagles and Bolton Wanderers captain Austin ‘Jay Jay ‘ Okocha has been handed a role at the Championship club ahead of the start of next season.
This was made known in a post on the twitter handle of John Harriot, who prides himself as an experienced football agent with over 17 years experience.
Okocha was part of what can be termed the glory era of Bolton in the 20th century and was pivotal in lifting them from perennial relegation battlers to a mid-table team during their stay in the English Premier League.
He ended up with the captain armband before his departure from the club but despite spending just four years at the club, fans of the club voted him as their best player ever in a poll conducted last year.
A shock signing from PSG, Okocha beat the likes of France World Cup winning ace Youri Djorkaeff, Kevin Davies, Ivan Campo and goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainnen to the title of the best player to have ever played for the club.
Harriot said the Nigerian has been handed a backroom job at the club as they seek to return to the English Premier League.
Harriot said Okocha will join the club and expressed optimism that he will be a big influence on the young players at the club.
