Jamie Foxx accused of sexual misconduct

Published

Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx has been accused of sexual misconduct in a lawsuit filed under New York state’s Adult Survivors Act.

Foxx is accused of groping a woman at a rooftop bar and restaurant in Manhattan in August 2015.

The lawsuit, filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which allows adult survivors of sexual abuse to sue their abusers even if the statute of limitations on their claims has expired, claims that Foxx “intentionally and without consent used force to offensively touch Plaintiff’s person,” including groping her breasts and genitals.

The woman, identified as Jane Doe, claims that Foxx assaulted her in a secluded area after she and a friend had their pictures taken with him.

The plaintiff is seeking unspecified damages from Foxx, as well as from the restaurant’s parent company, Catch Hospitality Group, and various related business entities for negligent hiring, training, and supervision.

Foxx has not yet commented on the allegations. The lawsuit is still pending.
