The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced that it will hold the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination mop-up test on Saturday, June 28.

In a post shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) page on Sunday, JAMB explained that the mop-up exam is meant to help candidates who missed the main UTME or had issues with biometric verification. It will also include some spill-over candidates from previous sessions.

According to the board, 5,096 candidates who could not take the exam earlier because of biometric problems or technical hitches will now have a chance to write it. Also, 91,742 other candidates who were absent during the main and resit exams have been granted a special chance to sit for the mop-up test.

“With this special arrangement, a total of 96,838 candidates are now scheduled to write the mop-up examination in 183 centres across the country,” JAMB said.

It added that the candidates can start printing their examination slips on Monday, June 23, 2025.

“This opportunity is strictly for those affected in the 2025 UTME alone,” the board clarified.

Earlier in the year, JAMB came under pressure following issues reported during the main UTME, including technical faults at some centres and failure of biometric data capture. This mop-up exercise is seen as a way to ensure fairness to all students affected.

Candidates are advised to check their profiles on the JAMB portal to print their slips and confirm the time and venue of their exams.
