The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has, alongside key education stakeholders, fixed deadlines for the completion of the 2025/2026 admission process for tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The resolutions were reached on Monday during the 2026 JAMB Annual Policy Meeting on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions held in Abuja.
Under the agreed timelines, all public universities are required to conclude their admission exercises on or before October 31, 2026. Private universities, on the other hand, have been directed to complete their admissions by November 30, 2026.
The meeting also resolved that polytechnics, monotechnics, and colleges of education must finalise their admission processes no later than December 31, 2026.
The policy meeting brought together vice-chancellors, rectors, and other stakeholders in the education sector to deliberate on ways to improve the admission process and ensure a uniform admission calendar for tertiary institutions nationwide.
