The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced that it remitted over N6 billion to the Nigerian government in 2024 as part of its operating surplus.

In its weekly bulletin released on Monday, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said the board generated a total income of N22.99 billion in 2024. From this, it remitted N6.03 billion directly to the government.

Dr. Benjamin also explained that the N1,500 reduction in Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination form fees for candidates added to the effective remittance. “When combined with the reduced fees for candidates, the total effective remittance for 2024 rises to N9.01 billion,” he said.

The board credited its successful financial performance to the efficient conduct of the 2024 UTME under the leadership of its Registrar and Chief Executive, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede.

“As we reflect on 2024, it is essential to uphold our commitment to transparency by sharing our financial performance for the year,” the board stated in its bulletin.

It also highlighted its contributions to the national treasury over the past seven years, revealing that it has remitted over N50 billion under Prof. Oloyede’s administration.

JAMB assured Nigerians of its continued efforts to maintain transparency and accountability in its operations.
