The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has fixed Saturday, June 13, 2026, for the conduct of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination mop up exercise.

According to Vanguard, the examination is for candidates who were biometrically verified during the 2026 UTME but could not sit for the examination due to one issue or another.

The board explained that some centres experienced technical challenges during the main UTME conducted between April 23 and April 29, 2026, making it impossible for several candidates to take the examination.

It added that some results were later withdrawn over examination infractions, while some candidates could not be verified biometrically despite presenting themselves for the examination.

In a statement issued on Monday by JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the board described the mop up examination as the final phase of the annual UTME exercise.

“The mop up examination represents the final phase of the annual UTME exercise and serves as an opportunity to address all outstanding examination challenges involving candidates who duly presented themselves but encountered difficulties in taking the examination,” the statement read.

JAMB advised affected candidates to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from Saturday, June 6, 2026.

The board also urged candidates to familiarise themselves with their examination centres and make necessary arrangements ahead of the examination date.

“There will be no further opportunity for any candidate to sit the 2026 UTME after this mop up exercise,” the board warned.
