Jaiz Bank has donated ₦110 million to assist the affected victims of the devastating floods that recently hit Maiduguri and surrounding areas in Borno State.

The donation includes both cash and relief materials to help alleviate the suffering caused by the disaster.

The Chairman of Jaiz Bank’s Board, Alhaji Mohammed Mustapha Bintube, led a delegation to Maiduguri, where the bank presented ₦100 million to the victims through Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum.

The contribution was split evenly, with ₦50 million in cash and another ₦50 million in relief materials.

“We have seen what has happened, we have heard it, and we feel it. So, we have come with a modest contribution to the tune of 100 million naira,” Bintube stated, expressing concern over the scale of the devastation.

Additionally, Jaiz Bank staff pledged part of their September salaries to further assist the flood victims, showing their personal commitment to the cause.

Governor Zulum expressed his gratitude to Jaiz Bank for the generous donation, praising the bank’s leadership for showing compassion. “This kind gesture shows that Jaiz Bank cares deeply for the welfare of our people, and for that, we are immensely grateful,” he said.

The Jaiz Bank delegation also visited the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garba Al Amin El-Kanemi, where they donated an additional ₦10 million to support the broader Borno community.

The bank’s humanitarian gesture comes at a critical time, as the floods have displaced thousands, destroyed homes, and severely damaged infrastructure. The donation is expected to provide much-needed relief, including essential supplies and support for rebuilding efforts.
