Jadon Sancho apologises for breaching Covid-19 rules at Tammy Abraham birthday party
England and Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho has publicly apologised for flouting coronavirus guidelines at Tammy Abraham’s birthday party on Saturday.
The former Manchester City player was spotted alongside Ben Chilwell at Abraham’s surprise birthday after the Chelsea striker turned 23 on Friday.
Footage on social media suggests that at least 20 people were present, a clear violation of the Government’s ‘rule of six’.
In addition, there was little use of facemasks as protection at the even, local media reported.
All three players were told to stay away from St. George’s Park on Monday while the FA establish whether the breach could put the rest of the squad at risk.
Writing on Instagram, Sancho said: “I would like to apologise for breaking the government guidelines and although I was unaware upon arriving of the numbers attending, I take full responsibility for my action.
“I will make sure moving forward that I learn from this.”
