Popular Afrobeats singer, Iyanya, has denied claims that he dumped Wizkid to support Davido.

The claims started after an X user accused him of changing sides following his recent support for Davido’s music.

The user, Akubasteeny, wrote, “I thought Wiz was your friend. I am just wondering why you switched side and turned into Davido’s boy.”

Reacting quickly, Iyanya made it clear that he has no problems with any artist and supports everyone in the music industry.

“I don’t have an issue with any artiste. I played Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ and ‘Morayo’, the same way I play every other artiste’s songs,” he wrote.

He added that artists are often the first to listen to new music when it is released, as part of staying updated with trends in the industry.

Iyanya also said that he listens to music shared by his talent manager, Ubi Franklin, and recently partied with Burna Boy—showing that he maintains good relationships with his fellow stars.

“I dey play all and I tell you, me no get enemy o. So make una stop this friend or no friend. Na una fans dey try dey push agenda wey no dey,” he said.

However, while trying to make his point, Iyanya made a spelling mistake. He typed “Maroya” instead of “Morayo,” the title of Wizkid’s tribute album to his late mother. This small error quickly turned into a bigger issue as fans reacted strongly online.

One user, Gwan_123, joked, “Maroya 😭😂😂😂😂 you go just know say na on mute e play am.”

Another user, The_Good, was angry and wrote, “Imagine you turn Big Wiz late lovely mum name Morayo to Maroya… you clearly know what you are doing, God go punish you.”

Iyanya later corrected the mistake and spelled the album title properly. Still, some fans continued to mock him.

Despite his efforts to explain himself, the slip only added fuel to the ongoing rivalry between Wizkid and Davido fans.

For now, Iyanya insists he holds no grudges and will keep supporting all artists equally.
