Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has addressed the ongoing tensions between Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham, explaining past issues and announcing that she will no longer intervene in their disputes.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Iyabo recounted her efforts to reconcile the two actresses while urging fans to respect both women.

“For those of you maligning my character, insulting me, and calling me unprintable names, this is for you!! Now, I need to set the record straight. This is the first and last time I will be talking about anything like this,” she wrote.

Iyabo acknowledged her own past mistakes, including a time she publicly dragged Funke over Toyin’s movie, describing it as a wrong move she should have handled better. She said she later reconciled with Funke after addressing their issues. “I tried my very best to settle both of them, cried, knelt down, begged both parties to embrace peace which they both later did, reason you saw them a few months ago interacting with one another. But there was a condition, no one was to shade online if any issue arose, they both promised to address it off camera.”

However, tensions reportedly resurfaced in December when Toyin raised concerns about alleged sabotage of her movie in cinemas, and some fans pointed accusing fingers toward Funke, sparking fresh beef. Iyabo also disclosed that Toyin was initially billed to feature in her upcoming movie, The Return of Arinzo, but pulled out at the last minute due to exhaustion and travel commitments, forcing a costly rewrite of the script.

“Honestly, all this saddened me because the sky is big enough for all. I have tried my best, but at this point, I can’t beg anyone anymore. I honestly don’t want to get involved anymore. Please, you all should respect that… when both parties are ready, they will make peace. I love them both regardless,” she said.

The post comes after a viral video from a recent premiere where Funke appeared not to respond to Toyin’s greeting, sparking widespread online speculation. Iyabo’s statement clarifies her role and urges fans to respect both actresses’ privacy until they resolve the matter themselves.
