Nollywood actress, Beverly Osu, has come under heavy criticisms after daring photos and postures of her in a religious habit circulated on the internet.

In the viral photos, Osu, who was the cover star for Taylor Live Magazine’s (TL) latest issue showed the actress smoking a cigarette and held a black rosary dressed in a nun’s habit.

Another photo showed her revealing side boobs also dressed in a slitted black nun outfit with her head covered in typical Catholic style.

Many Twitter users opined that the postures are offensive and disrespected Catholics who hold their religion sacred.

Some also opined that Osu was just doing a beautiful photoshoot which is a great work of art that gave her the much-needed attention.

The arguments have also resulted to name calling and degenerated to the Islam and hijab brouhaha.

One Twitter user, Series Abíọ́dún࿐@Engr_Series, wrote,

“Secularly, Beverly Osu actually got a beautiful photoshoot, a great work of art that gave her the yearned attention.

“On the other hand, the attire & rosary is sacred and as a Christian, it’s possible to find it offensive but involving Islam & hijab makes the outrage substandard!”

Meanwhile, the Catholic-born actress said people should rather worry and pray for the thousands of victims who are raped and abused by priests all over the world.

She said the photos are a mere work of art adding that reverend sisters and fathers smoke in real life which is not a sin.

Osu also debunked viral reports stating that she did the photo shoot to gain popularity.
