One person was killed and three others were wounded in an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon on Sunday, in what was described as a new breach of the ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024, according to the Health Ministry.
In a statement, the ministry said the casualties resulted from an attack that struck the town of Ebba in the Nabatieh governorate.
Israeli violations of the ceasefire have led to the deaths and injuries of hundreds of Lebanese, while Israel continues to occupy five Lebanese hilltops seized during the most recent conflict, in addition to other areas it has held for decades.
Israel launched military operations against Lebanon in October 2023 and later escalated them into a full-scale war in September 2024, leaving more than 4,000 people dead and around 17,000 injured.
Lebanese officials have repeatedly urged increased pressure on Tel Aviv to end the attacks and comply with the ceasefire agreement. Hezbollah, for its part, has on several occasions reaffirmed its commitment to the truce and called for Israel to withdraw from areas occupied during the last war.
