At least nine people have been killed and 47 others injured following a new wave of Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese media reports on Wednesday.

Lebanon’s National News Agency, citing the Health Ministry, reported that three people lost their lives while 18 others were wounded in an Israeli strike on the town of Habboush in Nabatieh.

In a separate incident, an attack targeting the al-Alam roundabout in Tyre left 24 people injured, the report added.

Further violence was recorded in the Mieh Mieh Palestinian refugee camp, where two individuals were killed and four others sustained injuries during a raid.

Meanwhile, in Adloun, located in Sidon, four people were killed and one person was injured in another strike.

The escalation comes as the Israeli military continues intensive air raids and ground operations in southern Lebanon, following a cross-border attack carried out by the Lebanese group Hezbollah on March 2.

Lebanese officials state that the ongoing Israeli offensive has resulted in at least 1,072 deaths and 2,966 injuries since the conflict intensified.

The latest surge in hostilities follows the launch of a joint US-Israeli offensive on Iran, which has reportedly killed more than 1,340 people since Feb. 28. In response, Tehran has carried out drone and missile strikes aimed at Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations, which it claims are targeting “US military assets.”
