The Indigenous People of Biafra have denied declaring a sit-at-home protest for October 21 and 22 in any part of Igbo land.

IPOB emphasized that it always makes public announcements when it declares such actions and urged people to ignore what it called an “obnoxious order” from criminals trying to damage its reputation.

IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said in a statement:
“IPOB did not order a two-day sit-at-home, and we don’t want to create panic over such inconsequential directives from infiltrators. Whenever we declare a sit-at-home, we make it public. Our people should ignore such obnoxious orders from criminals working for the government to tarnish the peaceful image of the IPOB movement.”

Despite IPOB’s denial, business activities in Aba, Abia State, were disrupted as many people observed the sit-at-home reportedly called by suspected pro-Biafra groups.

Schools, banks, and markets were closed, and major roads like Azikiwe, Faulks, and Aba-Owerri were deserted.

Security was tight, with soldiers and police officers patrolling key areas of the city.
