The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested four suspected internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘yahoo boys’ in the Lekki area of Lagos State.
The anti-graft agency said the suspects whose names were given as; Ale Daniel, Tunde Badmus, Adams Tunde Adedeji and Ajiboye Gbenga were arrested following intelligence report received about their activities.
The Lagos Zonal Head of the Commission, Akanninyene Ezima, who paraded them before journalists on Wednesday said the suspects were living flamboyant life without having a regular job at hand.
The zonal head stated that the suspects were arrested for various offences bordering on cyber crimes and money laundering.
He said four exotic cars and charms were recovered from the suspects, noting that they would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
Ezima said,
“It is to checkmate the activities of these undisciplined elements who want to reap where they did not sow. By this action, we are also sending a red alert to the so-called yahoo-yahoo boys that engaging in fraudulent deeds does not pay.”
