Inter Milan clinch 21st Serie A title with victory over Parma

Inter Milan were crowned Serie A champions on Sunday after defeating Parma 2-0 at the San Siro, sealing the title following a campaign in which they consistently set the pace.

Led by Cristian Chivu, the team required only a draw to confirm the Scudetto but secured all three points with a controlled performance, wrapping up their 21st league title in style.

The latest triumph represents Inter’s second Serie A success in three seasons. After finishing second to Napoli last term, they have now reclaimed the crown, having previously ended an 11-year title drought with their earlier victory.

This achievement further cements Inter’s standing in Italy’s historical rankings, where they sit behind Juventus, the record holders with 36 league titles.

Chivu, who featured 168 times for Inter between 2007 and 2014 during his playing days, assumed managerial duties in June 2025 after moving from Parma.

The title marks his first major trophy as a senior coach, secured in his debut season in charge of the club.

He took over from Simone Inzaghi, who had managed the team for four years prior to his departure.

Despite their domestic dominance, Inter endured a challenging run in Europe, exiting the UEFA Champions League at the playoff stage after a defeat to Bodø/Glimt in February.

The Nerazzurri could still complete a domestic double, as they are set to face Lazio in the Coppa Italia final scheduled for May 13.
