Operatives of the Jigawa State Police Command have arrested two suspected motorcycle thieves in Dutse Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Abdu Jinjiri, disclosed this to journalists on Friday in Dutse.
Abdu said the suspects were arrested in Belleri village after they allegedly attacked a commercial motorcyclist with the intention of snatching his boxer motorcycle.
Jinjiri said,
“On April 5 at about 4 p.m., policemen arrested two suspects in Dutse after they attacked a motorcyclist, Abdullahi Abdulhamid, with the intent to rob him of his motorcycle.
“In the process, the victim and one of the suspects were seriously injured. All the suspects are from Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.”
He said that both the victim and the suspect are currently receiving treatment at the Rasheed Shekoni Specialist Hospital, Dutse.
The spokesman said that during an investigation, one of the suspects identified as Nasiru a.k.a. Nass and one Mohammed a.k.a. Hilal are accomplices in the crime.
According to the PPRO, the suspects will be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
He said that police had launched a manhunt for the two identified accomplices.
