The Lagos State Government has airlifted 310 intending pilgrims to Israel and Jordan. The pilgrims, originally scheduled for the Easter edition of the pilgrimage, departed from the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, on Saturday and arrived in Jordan on Sunday morning.

Before their departure, the pilgrims gathered at the Chapel of Christ The Light, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, for final administrative and logistical preparations. They also participated in a session of prayers and praises.

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission Executive Secretary, Rev. Yakubu Pam, addressed the intending pilgrims at the chapel. He emphasized the importance of dedicating time to intercede for Nigeria as the nation celebrated its 63rd Independence Day anniversary.

Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Christian Religion, Very Rev. Bukola Adeleke, also spoke to the pilgrims. He assured them that Nigeria would be strong and ascend in the comity of nations. He also commended the state governor for his support of the pilgrimage and for ensuring that the pilgrims would have a worthwhile experience.

The pilgrims are expected to spend two weeks in Israel and Jordan, visiting holy sites in both countries.
