Hollywood star, Morgan Freeman, has been accused of sexual harassment and inappropriate behaviour by eight women, CNN reports.

The women alleged that Freeman has a history of making inappropriate comments as they gave accounts of their encounters with the actor.

Chloe Melas, one of the writers of the report, who was among the 16 people that narrated their ordeal with the Hollywood star, said eight claimed to have witnessed Freeman’s alleged conduct while others said they were victims.

Reports said Freeman often make comments about women’s bodies and clothing, at his production company; Revelations Entertainment, and while promoting his movies.

The 81-year-old actor was also accused of unwanted touching.

One woman said Freeman attempted to lift her skirt and look beneath it on the set of ‘Going in Style’. She said he didn’t stop until his co-star Alan Arkin intervened.

Three entertainment journalists — including Melas — said Freeman made inappropriate remarks during press junkets to promote new movies.

Lori McCreary, co-founder of his production company, is said to have also been subjected to inappropriate comments from Freeman.

According to the report, some of the incidents occurred in public, in front of witnesses and cameras.

Meanwhile, a representative for Freeman has issued a statement saying,

“Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy.

“I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected — that was never my intent.”
