Nigerian-American actress and television host, Osas Ighodaro, has been cast in a leading role in the forthcoming Nolly-Bollywood micro-drama series, Imported Bahu, marking another significant step in her growing international career.
The production was officially unveiled on Monday by executive producer Hamisha Daryani Ahuja.
The series stars Ighodaro alongside Bollywood actor and model Rajniesh Duggall and explores themes of love, family intrigue and cross-cultural relationships.
Ahuja announced the project through her Instagram page, describing Imported Bahu as the first vertical micro-drama series produced by Forever 7 Entertainment.
“For months, we’ve been keeping a secret. Today, we’re finally sharing it. Introducing Imported Bahu — Forever 7 Entertainment’s first vertical micro-drama series. A story of love, family, secrets, and one Imported Bahu who turns everything upside down,” she wrote.
According to the trailer, the plot follows Bahu Mehra, the son of a wealthy Indian family who returns home after spending time abroad. While his relatives anticipate his arrival with foreign gifts, they are stunned when he instead brings home Nigerian woman Zara Ogun, portrayed by Ighodaro.
Zara is depicted as the powerful and self-assured chief executive officer of Oguns Fashion, a multimillion-dollar enterprise. Despite her success, she faces resistance and struggles to gain acceptance from Bahu’s family, creating tension at the heart of the story.
Ahuja also revealed that the series will premiere on July 2, 2026, exclusively on LebaraPlay, which is described as Africa’s first telecom-owned micro-drama streaming platform.
Renowned for promoting collaborations between Nollywood and Bollywood, Ahuja has previously produced projects such as Namaste Wahala and Postcards. With Imported Bahu, she continues her efforts to connect African and Indian storytelling through culturally diverse productions.
For Ighodaro, the role represents another career milestone as she broadens her footprint on the global entertainment stage. The actress has built a reputation through her performances in film and television, in addition to her accomplishments as a television presenter and former beauty queen.
Ahead of its official release, the trailer for Imported Bahu has already been made available, generating excitement among audiences and fans of both Nollywood and Bollywood productions.
