Media personality and actress, Toke Makinwa, has said she is now open to marrying as a second, third, fourth, or even fifth wife.

The 40-year-old made this known during the latest episode of her podcast *Toke Moments*, shared on her YouTube channel.

Speaking with fashion designer Banke Kuku, Makinwa questioned if society had over-celebrated female independence.

“As independent women, do you think that we have glamourised this notion of being independent?” she asked.

Banke replied, “Yeah. It’s tough.”

Toke then shared her own view. “I won’t lie, Banke. Let me break it down. Forget the cameras,” she said.

“At this point in my life, if I have the opportunity to be the second, third, fourth or fifth wife, I will take it.”

She explained that although she is strong and independent, it sometimes becomes too much to handle alone.

“Let me tell you what the biggest thing for me is, I am the boss everywhere and that could be tiring. You feel like you need someone to lean on. Someone that could decide what is for dinner. Must it be me?” she asked.

Toke Makinwa was once married to businessman Maje Ayida. They got married in 2014 but the marriage ended in 2017.

In late 2024, rumours spread that she had secretly married her longtime friend Farouk Umar. However, she denied the story, saying the event was only a Thanksgiving celebration and that Farouk is just her “bestie.”
