Nollywood actress, Monalisa Stephen, has opened up on her struggles with hearing challenge.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, she said; “I have tinnitus
“It’s frustrating and I have to work twice as hard not to focus on it.
“It’s really hard, sometimes I just cry and wish it can go away but it’s not going.
“Well I’m strong, this is not for pity, just saying it incase you’re also fighting it, you’re not alone”.
Tinnitus is when you experience ringing or other noises in one or both of your ears. The noise isn’t caused by an external sound and other people usually can’t hear it.
An ear, nose and throat specialist, Dr. Gayla Poling of Mayo Clinic, says: “90 per cent of those with tinnitus have hearing loss.”
