Former footballer and television personality John Fashanu has dismissed reports concerning his health, marriages, and personal affairs, describing the claims as false and misleading.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, Fashanu stated that reports claiming his health was deteriorating or that he was suffering from a medical condition were completely untrue.

“I am in good health and doing well,” he said.

Fashanu also addressed reports involving a woman identified as Amal, denying claims that she had been managing his affairs or frequently visiting him in Nigeria.

“A number of statements published in the media are simply untrue,” he said.

“Contrary to what has been suggested, Amal has not been visiting Nigeria every weekend for the past three months. In fact, she visited me in Nigeria for the first time a fortnight ago, during which she introduced a man she referred to as her husband.”

The former football star added that he has a trusted management team in the United Kingdom working closely with his wife and lawyers.

Fashanu further clarified that he has only been married three times and is currently with his third wife, Vivian.

“I have only been married three times and am currently with my third wife, Vivian, whom I love dearly,” he said.

He also expressed disappointment over what he described as inaccurate and damaging public statements involving his daughter and disclosed that his lawyers were reviewing the publications for possible legal action.

“My lawyers are currently reviewing the publications and considering the legal implications of the false claims that have been made,” he added.

Fashanu concluded by urging media organisations to exercise fairness, responsibility, and due diligence when reporting sensitive matters involving individuals.
