A naval officer has reportedly assaulted a woman in Lagos because her car touched his flowers.

Kingsley Uzokwe,  who is attached to the Nigeria Navy base, Apapa, Lagos, allegedly bragged that he was above the law when he brutalised the lady, identified as Bolanle Dairo, on Sunday.

The incident occurred in front of Abees Place, on the Lekki-Epe Expressway, where Bolanle had gone for a bridal shower.

Reports said Bolanle was forced to park her car opposite the venue because there was no space at Abees Place. However, 20 minutes later, she was summoned to move her car as the owner of the building claimed that the car was touching his flower.

Bolanle was said to have obliged and apologized to the four men gathered behind her car, but Uzokwe poured the drink he had in his hands, on her face.

He allegedly grabbed her clothes and slapped her. The naval officer was further alleged to have whipped her with a wire cord.

Upon breaking free, the victim proceeded to report at the nearest police station, but the suspect was nowhere to be found when the police visited the scene.
