Iheanacho bags brace as Leicester secure 4-0 win over Braga

Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho netted twice to help Leicester City overcome Braga in a four-goal thriller during Thursday night’s Europa League clash.

The former Manchester City star got his second start in the competition also made an assist as the Foxes clinched their third consecutive victory in the European tournament.

The Nigeria international got his first goal in the 20th minute after a nice one-two with James Maddison put him through and he got a lucky bounce on his way before slotting the ball home.

The 24-year-old made it two on the night in the 42nd minute with a powering shot that deflected into the net, thanks to an assist from C, Ünder.

Iheanacho became a provider moments later when he found super-sub Dennis Praet who made sure the game was out of reach for the away team as he netted the Foxes’ third goal.

Maddison who was involved in the first goal with an assist also got on the score sheet in the 78th minute to squash all hope Braga had left.

Leicester are now on the verge of qualifying for the next round after moving three points clear at the top of their Europa League group, ahead of their visitors, Braga.

According to OptaJoe, Iheanacho has been directly involved in five goals in two UEFA Europa League starts (3 goals, 2 assists) for Leicester this season.
