IGP appoints new police commissioners for Bayelsa, Cross River, Ekiti, Ogun
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the posting of new Commissioners of Police to Ekiti, Ogun, Cross River and Bayelsa states.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday night by the Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, DCP Frank Mba, CP Mobayo Babatunde has been deployed to Ekiti State, while CP Edward Ajogun is deployed to Ogun State.
Also, CP Abdulkadir Jimoh is deployed to Cross River State, while CP Okoli Michael is deployed to Bayelsa State.
The statement further disclosed that the postings were with immediate effect.
Some postings are routine. Some of the officers that are being replaced are either proceeding to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, or National Defence College or are getting set for pre-retirement leave.
In another development, the IGP on Monday said 41,863 officers and men of various ranks have been promoted since he assumed office in January 2019.
The IGP said these reflected in their record of discipline and invaluable experience.
Adamu noted that the capacity of the human assets of any organisation determines its capability, particularly at strategic management level, which is fundamental to the attainment of its goals and mandate.
The IGP said no organisation can advance beyond the competence and dedication of its strategic leaders; neither can any organisational goals and plans be attained without a crop of highly committed personnel to drive the implementation process.
He said this position is even more critical for a law enforcement agency that is strategic to internal security as the Nigeria Police Force.
