Veteran Nigerian comedian Otaghware Otas Onodjayeke, widely known as IGoSave, has criticised Nollywood actress and evangelist Tonto Dikeh following the circulation of a controversial video showing her conducting a deliverance session in a school.

The incident reportedly took place on Friday, March 6, when Dikeh and members of her outreach team visited a school as part of an evangelism programme.

According to the actress, she perceived what she described as a spirit of death within the environment, prompting her to carry out a deliverance session involving some of the pupils.

Soon after the footage surfaced online, it attracted widespread reactions and criticism across social media.

Social media commentator VeryDarkMan was among those who condemned the act, accusing Dikeh of exploiting vulnerable children for online content rather than offering genuine spiritual assistance.

Nollywood actress Doris Ogala also voiced strong disapproval, labelling the incident as blasphemous.

She questioned whether Dikeh would permit such a deliverance exercise to be performed on her own child and further called on the police and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons to investigate the situation.

Despite the backlash, Dikeh appeared unfazed by the criticism. On Saturday, March 7, she posted additional clips from the outreach on her Instagram page, maintaining that her focus remained on her Christian mission rather than public opinion.

Responding to the controversy via his Instagram story, IGoSave condemned the actress’s actions and criticised her choice of targets.

The Warri-born comedian argued that rather than confronting politicians he believes are responsible for the nation’s struggles, she chose to perform deliverance on a schoolgirl.

He also questioned the sincerity of her religious mission and accused her of seeking attention.

“You leave the plenty politicians piloting this country into poverty and milking our national treasures that are your friends; Na small girl wey dey primary school you see to go deliver! I know you like seeking attention but please calm down… Abi na YouTube missionary views hustle you don start so?”
