The Nigerian Army has asked the public to ignore a fake announcement about recruitment into the Direct Short Service Commission and Short Service Commission.

Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, Acting Director of Army Public Relations, said in a statement on Friday night that the fake advert, which is spreading online, is false and misleading.

She said, “The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to a fake advertisement circulating online, falsely claiming that the ‘Nigerian Army DSSC/SSC Application Form 2025’ is currently available. This claim is entirely false.”

According to her, the Nigerian Army has not started any recruitment or commissioning for DSSC or SSC for the year 2025.

The Army urged Nigerians to disregard the fake advert because it did not come from them.

“Whenever such recruitment exercises are scheduled to begin, the public will be duly informed through official channels with adequate publicity,” the statement said.

The Army also warned Nigerians to be careful so that they do not fall victim to fraudsters who may want to collect money from them through fake announcements.

The Army further advised that anyone with information about such scams should report to the proper authorities for action.
