Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has triggered widespread reactions after a video emerged online in which she compared the post–Big Brother Naija achievements of Yoruba winners to those of their Igbo counterparts.

The footage, which has circulated widely across social media platforms, captures the actress making pointed remarks about the level of support and long-term success enjoyed by former housemates from different ethnic groups.

Translating her comments from the viral clip, Anjorin argued that past Igbo winners of the reality show have fared better in the public space than winners from the Yoruba community.

She cited personalities such as Whitemoney and Mercy Eke as examples of former housemates who have continued to maintain strong visibility and career growth after leaving the show.

Conversely, she claimed that Yoruba winners—mentioning Laycon and others—have not received the same level of public backing.

According to her, some Yoruba ex-housemates have faced challenges staying relevant following their victory.

Anjorin also used the opportunity to criticise actress Iyabo Ojo, accusing her of contributing to negative perceptions of the Yoruba community.

In her words: “In the history of Big Brother Naija, it’s only the Igbos who have won the reality show and made it in life. We can’t find the Yorubas who also emerge as winners on the show. Your lineage is terrible; you people are inhuman. When Lizzy was talking about it, you said she talks too much, curses, and insults a lot. All the Igbos who won BBNaija are doing well—Whitemoney, Mercy Eke, and others.”

Speaking further, she said: “But for the Yorubas—Lekan, we hardly hear about him, while for Imisi, it was dead on arrival for her. Because you want to beg for N50 for her mother.”

Anjorin also delivered a harsh warning to those who continue to associate with Iyabo Ojo. She said: “Those of you still patronising Iyabo Ojo, you will be handed a letter of your children’s sudden death. Everything you worked for will finish in your lifetime. Have you seen people using Whitemoney’s mother to raise money before? It’s because they don’t have unfortunate bloggers like Iyabo Ojo among the Igbo.”

Her remarks have since ignited intense conversations across social media, with many users condemning the ethnic undertones while others debated the accuracy of her claims regarding the success of former Big Brother Naija winners.
