The Israel Defense Forces carried out 20 waves of airstrikes across western and central Iran over the past 24 hours, hitting more than 200 regime sites, including missile launchers, defense systems, and weapons production facilities, the military confirmed on Friday.

Over the past two weeks, the IDF has conducted hundreds of such strike waves targeting Iranian military infrastructure.

On Thursday, Iranian state television broadcast a message attributed to the country’s newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, accompanied by a photograph of him.

Observers note that there have been no other public appearances from Khamenei since he assumed the position.

“The will of the masses is to continue the effective and regrettable defense,” the statement reportedly read.

Khamenei’s message also expressed gratitude to Yemen’s Houthis and Lebanon’s Hezbollah for “defending the oppressed people of Gaza” and “coming to the aid of the Islamic Republic despite all obstacles.” He further acknowledged the “courage” of Iraqi resistance forces.
