Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele, has revealed that she no longer attends church services in person on Sundays.
According to reports, the actress cited the level of attention she receives whenever she shows up at a church as the main reason for her decision.
In a video shared via her Snapchat page, she was seen at home preparing breakfast while getting her children ready for church.
During the recording, she stated that although her children would attend the service physically, she would remain at home and participate online instead.
She explained that her presence at church often attracts photographers and attention from congregants, making it difficult for her to worship in a calm and private setting.
She added that both media crews and church members tend to focus on her, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere.
“Do not ask if I am going to church. I am not going to church. Anytime I go to church, it is me that they take picture of. I will join online,” she said.
