The dismembered body of one of the two missing female friends, identified as Afiba Tandoh from Ghana and Celine Ndudim from Nigeria, has been discovered after the victims’ disappearance.

According to reports, the victims who were declared missing in April were in Nigeria for a wedding that was cancelled before making a detour to visit a friend they had met on Facebook – the prime suspect identified as Andrew Amaechi Ochekwo.

Human rights advocate Harrison Gwamnishu, on his social media platforms, claimed the friends travelled from Port Harcourt in Rivers State to Aba in Abia State to meet their online acquaintances.

Further reports revealed that the already mutilated body of one of the girls was discovered, raising suspicion of the suspect’s involvement in organ harvesting or ritual killing.

The prime suspect was subsequently apprehended by the police for allegedly being in possession of the missing girls’ belongings.

Further reports revealed that Ochekwo was also wanted by the UK police in connection with the sexual assault of a woman in Milton Keynes in June 2019.

In a video recording, Ochekwo was heard inviting Celine and her friend to his home in Aba, where he described his residence and proposed activities for their visit.

In the video recording where Ochekwo invited Celine and her friend to his home, he was heard saying, “Hi, Celine, how are you? How are you doing? How was your journey? You have to bring your friend. I live in Aba now. I’m in Aba. I’ve got a new office here. I live in this great, big mansion. Got six bedrooms, so let’s talk before… Not this weekend. We’ll come next weekend, okay? I will send you some money. Just get a taxi, or Uber or Bolt. It’ll cost you about maybe N50,000 just to come here. Come spend a few nights with your friend. We’ll have a bit of fun. We’ll sort of go out and have some food. Okay? Yeah, I live in a beautiful, beautiful house now, absolutely beautiful. It’s even better than my other place. Okay. Alright, girl. You take care. Bye.”

Following his arrest in Aba, Ochekwo’s case was transferred to Umuahia, and later, there were attempts to relocate him to Abuja due to concerns about his comfortable living conditions in custody.

However, during transportation from Abia State to Abuja, Ochekwo was reportedly shot dead by police officers.

Subsequently, police officers discovered a decomposing body near Ochekwo’s residence in the Ogbor-Hill area of Aba. The body was wrapped in a curtain similar to those found in Ochekwo’s house, where he had invited the missing women.

While it remains unclear whether the body belongs to either of the missing friends or another individual, the Abia State police public relations officer, Maureen Chioma Chinaka, confirmed that the case had been transferred to the Force Headquarters in Abuja following Ochekwo’s arrest.

Harrison further in the video shared on Monday that police officers, found a decomposing body dumped close to Ochekwo’s home in the Ogbor-Hill area of Aba.

According to FIJ, the Abia State Police public relations officer, Maureen Chioma Chinaka, when contacted on Tuesday, said that the case had been transferred to the police headquarters in Abuja.

She said, “The suspect that you people are talking about, that matter has been transferred to force headquarters. The matter is no longer in Abia State. We made an arrest on May 8. We investigated, and on the 21st, we handed over to the Intelligence Response Team in Abuja”
