Popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has bravely shared her story of surviving multiple sexual assaults, speaking out during a recent appearance on Biola Bayo’s “Talk to B” show.
The respected actress revealed she had been raped five times in her life, using her platform to strongly condemn those who defend such crimes.
“I was raped five times in my life. I discovered we have a lot of rape apologists,” Ojo said during the interview. “I don’t care who the person is; if that person is my son, I am going to come for him unapologetically.”
The actress also opened up about her challenging childhood, sharing details about her father’s struggles with substance abuse that led to his early death at age 40.
“My dad did everything, alcohol and drugs, so it messed him up at a young age,” she explained.
Ojo’s early life was unconventional, as she spent her first years with her grandmother. “I grew up with my grandmother, who is half Delta and half Igbo. I think I was seven before I knew my mother,” she revealed.
During the interview, the actress also addressed rumors about her connections in the entertainment industry, stating firmly: “I have never met Naira Marley before my entire life.”
She spoke about a period of financial hardship in her life, explaining it was connected to her choice of marriage partner. “The only time I lacked was when I insisted this was the man I was going to get married to because, at that time, my dad and I disowned each other,” she said.
