I was insulted by Tuchel, Porto coach, Conceicao claims

Porto coach Sergio Conceicao has accused his Chelsea counterpart, Thomas Tuchel, of hurling insults at him following his side’s elimination from the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Portuguese failed to make up for the 2-0 deficit in the first leg but managed to score a beautiful overhead kick through Mehdi Taremi late in the second leg.

However, it was Tuchel’s Blues that progress to the semi-final despite losing the second game.

Speaking after the game. Conceicao had engaged the referee that he had a witness in the fourth official to the accusation he leveled against Tuchel.

“I was insulted by this gentleman who is next to me,” he told TVI24 (via Record). “I was telling the referee that the fourth official heard these insults. That’s all.”

But he later mentioned Tuchel’s name in his press conference, although he admitted that he could not really catch what the Chelsea manager allegedly said due to a language barrier.

“My English is not perfect and there is no point in talking about this, but I was insulted by Thomas Tuchel,” he explained (via Porto’s official website).

“There was no exchange of words on my part, so I didn’t understand the reaction. I didn’t even speak to him during the game.”
