An engineer has narrated to the Ekiti State Police Command how he serially raped his 12-year-old daughter.
52-year-old Noel Davies confessed to police in Ekiti that he serially raped his daughter out of foolishness.
The suspect who was said to be a staff of the ICT department of Ekiti State University pleaded for forgiveness.
He said his wife sometimes got to know of the incident but it was resolved and concealed in the family.
But the ‘clandestine affair’ was later exposed when the girl confided in her school teacher during a lecture on sex education.
The suspect was arrested following a tip-off by the chairperson of Federation of Women Lawyer (FIDA), Ekiti State chapter, Mrs Seyi Ojo who was contacted by the school authorities.
The victim said the issue started a few years ago, when her father told her about how special she was, and soon started caressing her breast for some months before he began to have carnal sex with her.
Police spokesman DSP Caleb Ikechukwu David was said to have confessed to the crime.
“The suspect had been having unlawful carnal knowledge of his biological daughter of 12 years for over three years,” he said.
The suspect was handed over to the police for investigation and prosecution. During interrogation, Noel, an engineer, said he did the act out of foolishness and pleaded for forgiveness.
She said it went on like that for some months before he began to have sex with her. At the moment, the girl, who was bleeding, has been taken to the hospital for further examination.
