Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Dee One, has said that his participation in the popular reality TV show had minimal influence on his career, describing his involvement as “a mistake.”

Dee One, who was evicted after 22 days during the 2018 ‘Double Wahala’ edition, made the comments during an interview, where he reflected on his time in the house and the aftermath of his appearance.

“Big Brother Naija was a mistake that happened in my life. Big Brother did not really help me like that. There are a lot of people who went to Big Brother Naija who today are struggling with what to eat,” he said, dismissing the long-touted benefits of the platform.

He also criticised fellow ex-housemates, including White Money, winner of the show’s sixth season, urging him to focus on his culinary skills rather than pursuing a music career.

“White Money was one of the people who encouraged me to start talking online. He knows about the jollof, but the music is not. Kiddwaya is not as rich as he portrays himself. Why is he living a fake life?” he added.

Born Aderombi Adedayo Martin, Dee One rose to public attention through BBNaija but has since become more widely known for his outspoken social media presence and feuds with other celebrities, including White Money, VeryDarkMan, Davido, and Phyna.
