“I was at the rally and everything was going fine until the miscreants attacked.
“I had to run for my life and it is sad that Nigerian politics is this way.”
“The miscreants attacked because their targets were in the rally, just because they were after one person, they turned the rally into a violence spree, injuring many and it is so sad.”
Meanwhile, the APC in a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Joe Igbokwe, blamed the scary incident on the disagreement between two factions of National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW.
Igbokwe said the hoodlums were engaged in a supremacy battle and wondered why they brought the fight to the campaign ground.
He also confirmed that the miscreants were members of APC, he said;
“We are not denying they are our members, but must they take their struggle for power and supremacy to our campaign ground to endanger other people?”
No fewer than ninepeople were reportedly injured during the rally, including three journalists who sustained gunshot injuries.
A leader of the NURTW, MC Oluomo, was also stabbed and rushed to the EKO Hospital, Ikeja, for treatment.
The Police had declared another leader of the NURTW, Mustapha Adekunle, aka Seigo, wanted over the clash.
