A Lagos Uber driver has cried out for help following the announcement of the first case of the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria.
Olugbenga Bodunrin has taken to social media to claim that he had contact with the victim who brought the virus into the country.
An Italian citizen who works in Nigeria and returned from Milan to Lagos was confirmed as the victim in the early hours of Friday morning by the Federal Ministry of Health and the Lagos State Government.
Following reports that the government has started working to identify all the persons who had contact with the Italian citizen, an Uber driver took to Twitter to identify himself as one of those who had contact with the Italian when he arrived the country.
Olugbenga Bodunrin said he picked the Italian at the airport, spent time with him and even dined with him.
He shared his phone number on Twitter as he called for help.
Olugbenga tweeted:
I had contact with Italian citizen the day before yesterday. Am an uber driver i picked him at airport. We talk, gist and laugh together. We even dine together… My name is olugbenga bodunrin. 08136464040.”
Some social media users are, however, doubting Olugbenga’s claim.
