The wife of Nigerian rapper Naeto C, Nicole Chikwe, has confessed that she still feels overwhelmed and starstruck whenever she sees Nollywood icon Genevieve Nnaji, even after knowing her for more than a decade.
In a video shared online, Nicole recalled a recent encounter at a café in Ikoyi, Lagos, where she unexpectedly ran into Genevieve. Despite their long-standing acquaintance and exchanging greetings, Nicole admitted that she struggled to keep her composure.
“I want to talk about one person in particular because there is one person who whenever I’m in this person’s presence I feel like I am in the presence of a star and I am shook and I am weak every single time and that person is Genevieve Nnaji and even till now 14 years later whenever I see her I’m still just like I’m trying not to faint. She’s just a star,” she said.
Describing the surreal moment, Nicole said it felt like the air left the room and time stood still the moment she saw the actress.
She recalled instinctively bowing before Genevieve and saying, “My queen, I’m not worthy to be in your presence.”
Although Genevieve laughed, Nicole said her admiration was sincere.
She explained that, despite her access to many public figures through marriage and her media work, Genevieve remains the only celebrity who still leaves her completely awestruck.
