The winner of Big Brother Naija Season 6, Hazel Oyeze Onou popularly known as Whitemoney, who has ventured into music, recently revealed that he has not yet experienced financial gains from his music career.
In an interview with BBC Igbo, the reality star shared insights into his music journey, highlighting the challenges he faces in the industry, especially with streaming services.
Whitemoney expressed, “The truth is singing has not started paying me because I don’t get money from streaming, but I get money from performances. I don’t have the best voice but I have a message and melody.”
Whitemoney emphasized that his primary focus is on delivering meaningful content rather than conforming to conventional standards.
“People criticise me, even those paid to criticise me. What you need to know is that I don’t sing to make you feel fine because you don’t feed or fund my musical career,” he added.
