A fan who was kicked by Nigerian superstar Burna Boy after rushing onto the stage during a performance has revealed why he did it.
The man, whose video has gone viral on social media, said he acted out of admiration and did not intend any harm.
In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the fan explained that he stormed the stage because of his love for Burna Boy and a desire to be noticed as an aspiring musician.
“I see my videos flying around about what happened between me and Burna Boy on stage. I didn’t mean to harm him; I just wanted to, you know, as a fan, embrace him. I didn’t know it would turn out that way,” he said.
The fan admitted he felt embarrassed by the incident but expressed understanding for Burna Boy’s reaction. “I don’t blame him because only he knows what was on his mind at that moment,” he added.
He also shared his deeper reasons for approaching Burna Boy during the performance was to express his admiration as a loyal fan and to seize the moment and request an opportunity to perform on stage, as he is also a musician.
“I’ve been attending Burna Boy’s shows for a very long time. I’m one of his biggest fans,” he said.
The video sparked diverse reactions online, with some users supporting Burna Boy’s actions and others sympathizing with the fan.
