Abdulazeez Adegbola, a popular traditionalist known as Tani Olohun, has publicly apologized to his prosecutors and the Muslim community for his alleged actions of burning the Quran and defaming certain Muslim figures in Kwara State.

Addressing the court following his bail hearing on Thursday, Adegbola expressed deep regret for his behavior and pleaded for forgiveness. He acknowledged that he was unaware of the severity of his actions, stating, “I don’t know that burning the Quran is an offence, I immediately pulled down the video of the incident from my social media handle in less than a minute.

“I beg all my prosecutors and the Muslims all over to forgive me and I promised I will not repeat such an act again of posting negative videos on social media handles.”

He further emphasized his commitment to refraining from such behavior in the future.

Adegbola’s sincere apology comes amidst multiple legal proceedings against him for his alleged transgressions.

Two separate cases, initiated by Sheikh Labeeb Lagbaji and Modrasat Muhammed and led by Professor Abubakar Aliagan, have been filed before Magistrate Adam for offences including the burning of the Quran.

With the recent bail granted by Magistrate A.S Adam, Adegbola has secured release from all four cases and three courts where he faces charges related to defamation and the burning of the Quran.

He had previously been arraigned before Magistrate Muhammed Ibrahim for allegedly insulting Ilorin elders and in the Upper Area Court following a direct complaint by the counsel of one Alfa Okutagidi.
