A 20-year-old alleged rapist, Quadri Azeez has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate Court after he confessed to having an urge to rape every girl that he comes across.

He blamed his misdeed on a spiritual attack.

The Nation reported that Azeez was arraigned by the police before Chief Magistrate, Dr Olusegun Ayilara, on Friday on two counts of rape and assault.

The charge sheet brought by the Police Prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Olusegun, read,

“that you Quadri Azeez on March 6, 2021, at Ara area, Ede, unlawful have carnal knowledge and indecently assault one girl (name withheld) thereby committed an offence punishable under sections 358 and 360 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.”

Ayilara refused to take the plea of the defendant and questioned why he was charged to court.

Azeez said:

“I always feel like raping girls that come my way. I feel unease when I sight any girl. My parent has been going about seeking spiritual solution to my problem before I raped this particular girl. This is the first girl I will ever rape.”

The Magistrate ordered that he should be remanded in Ilesha Correctional Centre and adjourned the case till March 15, 2021.
