HUNGRY! Man climbs high tension pole in a bid to commit suicide, Nigerians react [Photos]
Nigerians have reacted to the story of a naked man who attempted to commit suicide this morning after starving for an undisclosed number of days.
The yet to be identified man reportedly climbed Ojota power line in Lagos with the intention to jump down and die.
It was gathered that the man after being rescued by concerned residents, revealed that hunger pushed him to the decision to end it all.
Reports said the man, who looked unwell, threatened to jump down if he was not given something to eat.
It was gathered that a car dealer had to bring out the sum of N5,000 to show the man before he started climbing down from the high tension pole.
A witness said when the man was close to the ground, officials of the Ikeja Electric and police officers at the scene climbed up and helped him down.
The police officers later took him to a nearby police station at Ojota.
The witnessed added that the man looked hungry and haggard when he came to the scene, noting that nobody suspected that he wanted to climb the high tension pole.
