Hull City head coach, Sergej Jakirovic, has described Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen as the most outstanding player in the Turkish Super Lig, according to reports.

Osimhen, who moved to Turkey two seasons ago, has quickly become a dominant figure in the league. During his first campaign on loan, he played a decisive role in guiding his side to both the league and cup titles, finishing the season with an impressive 31 goals and six assists in 34 appearances.

Despite facing injury setbacks in the current season, the Nigerian striker has continued to deliver strong performances whenever available. He has so far registered 20 goals and eight assists in 32 matches across all competitions.

This weekend, he is expected to play a key role as his team looks to clinch back-to-back league titles with a crucial fixture against relegation-threatened Antalyaspor at RAMS Park.

Meanwhile, Hull City are pushing for promotion to the Premier League and are preparing for a playoff first-leg encounter against Millwall. The English side also features Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi.

Ahead of the decisive match, Jakirovic reflected on his coaching stint in Turkey, where he previously guided Kayserispor to a 13th-place finish in the Super Lig.

When asked to identify the league’s best performer, the coach immediately singled out Osimhen, praising both his technical quality and mentality.

“Victor Osimhen is a fantastic player. When he’s absent, Galatasaray truly struggles; you can see the immediate impact he has on the pitch,” Jakirovic said.

“Galatasaray had a difficult match against Kayserispor but managed to win and secure the championship in that game. Osimhen has an incredible mentality. Even with two weeks left in the season when most players might be thinking of vacation, he stayed and fought. That is what makes him such a valuable asset.”

Osimhen’s consistent performances have continued to attract attention from top European clubs, with reports linking him to FC Barcelona, Real Madrid CF and Chelsea FC. However, no official offers have been made, and his current club is expected to face a challenge retaining him if his form continues.
