The wife and manager of WWE Hall of Fame professional wrestler Brutus “The Barber”, Missy Beefcake, has forcefully dismissed long-standing rumours linking her husband, WWE Hall of Famer Brutus Beefcake, to fellow wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, insisting there is no truth to allegations that the two were romantically involved.
Speaking on the “Monte & The Pharaoh” podcast, Missy addressed claims first made by Linda Hogan in her 2011 memoir, Wrestling the Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes. Without hesitation, she rejected the allegations, pointing to her personal knowledge of her husband.
“Well, here, let’s go there. Nowadays, it wouldn’t shock me if there was like this big gay thing, right? But knowing my husband and knowing the depths of p***y, I know it didn’t happen.”
The rumors stem from Hulk Hogan’s highly publicized divorce from Linda Hogan. After filing for divorce in 2007, Linda alleged in her memoir that Hogan had multiple affairs and claimed he had relationships with men, specifically naming Brutus Beefcake.
Hogan denied the allegations, stating he had never abused Linda and insisting he would have openly admitted it if he were gay. He later filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife, arguing the accusations damaged his reputation and career. Brutus Beefcake also pursued legal action over the claims, although both lawsuits were eventually dropped.
Reflecting on the legal battle, Missy claimed Hogan initially assured Brutus that both of their lawsuits against Linda would proceed together before the situation changed.
“But so there was the lawsuit. Hogan was having the lawsuit with Linda, and he said, ‘Brother, you’re involved in the lawsuit, too. This is what’s going to happen. My attorneys are going to take care of the lawsuit, and I’m suing Linda, you’re suing Linda. It’s going down.’
“So, we were in contact with attorneys that were filing the lawsuit. And then all of a sudden, Hogan settled his lawsuit with Linda. I don’t know what the terms were. And Brutus was like, ‘Hey, what about my lawsuit?’ and they were like, ‘Nah, we’re not moving forward with that. We’re all set.’”
She further suggested that Brutus Beefcake’s lawsuit may have been dropped as part of Hogan’s settlement with Linda.
“So, my take is that they were like, ‘Listen, Linda, listen, Linda. Settle the lawsuit. We’ll drop the Beefcake situation, and it’ll all be done.’”
Missy also challenged the long-standing belief that Brutus Beefcake’s wrestling career was built on Hogan’s fame, arguing instead that Hogan benefited significantly from their friendship.
“Which to me is what Hogan has always done with Brutus. People say, Brutus rode Hogan’s coattails, but my take is, without Brutus Beefcake, there really wouldn’t be any Hulk Hogan. That’s the truth.”
Both Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake have since been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, while the allegations remain one of the more controversial stories surrounding their decades-long friendship.
