Veteran Nigerian singer Daddy Showkey has revealed that award-winning artist Wizkid played a key role in introducing him to Instagram.
The revelation came during a video conversation with music producer Maleek Berry.
Daddy Showkey recounted how a visit to Wizkid’s residence a few years ago sparked his curiosity about the social media platform after he learned he was trending online.
He explained that Wizkid not only introduced him to Instagram but also personally helped him open an account.
He added that fellow musician KCee later stepped in to guide him on how to properly use and engage with the app.
Daddy Showkey expressed gratitude to both artists for their support, acknowledging that their help allowed him to expand his reach and engage with a wider audience.
“I had a special call today from @maleekberry and I shared a story of how @wizkidayo introduced me and also helped me open my Instagram account, and how @iam_kcee also shared knowledge on how to navigate the app,” he wrote on Instagram. “Life is about learning, and applying the knowledge is key to the life we live now.”
In earlier interviews, Daddy Showkey has consistently praised Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido for elevating Nigerian music on the global stage. He often refers to them as a new generation of “ghetto fighters” who continue to make the country proud internationally.
