In defiance of a subsisting court order, a Nigerian billionaire man, Chief Leemon Ikpea, has thrown his wife, Mrs Agnes Ikpea, along with their children, out of their home in Banana Island, Lagos.
According to Sahara Reporters, the 64-year-old oil magnate was keen on marrying his younger mistress with Agnes standing as the only stumbling block.
To pave the way for his second marriage, Ikpea was said to have approached the court to get an order granting him access to throw his wife out of the house.
Presiding over his case on February 17, 2021, Justice Joseph Itsebaga Acha of the Edo State High Court had ruled that for the wife to be ejected from the house, the billionaire must provide suitable accommodation for his wife around Victoria Island, Lekki, or anywhere convenient in Lagos outside of Banana Island, Ikoyi, pending the determination of the substantive suit.
However, in what appeared to be a flagrant disregard of the court order, Ikpea threw out the wife without providing any alternative apartment as ordered by the court.
Eyewitnesses said the man came in the company of some thugs who packed her belongings and forced her out.
The heartbroken wife narrated how the husband had brought in a ‘new woman’ into the house and had been pushing for a divorce.
Now, she is looking up to the court for reprieve as her husband failed to provide alternative accommodation for her before ejecting her.
