Coronavirus: Build hospital you refused, now you cannot travel abroad, Don Jazzy mocks Nigerian politicians who tested positive

Nigerian music mogul and Mavin Records CEO, Don Jazzy, has taken to his verified Instagram page to share a humorous encounter with a food vendor, using the story to explain why he’s often reluctant to accept free gifts.

In a video posted online, the music executive recounted how he was offered a complimentary plate of Nkwobi by a food vendor.

He accepted the offer and enjoyed the meal, only for the vendor to later approach him with an unexpected favour in return — she asked him to give her Rema, one of Mavin’s top artistes.

Clearly amused by the bold request, Don Jazzy laughed off the situation and playfully questioned the logic behind trading an artiste of Rema’s calibre for a plate of Nkwobi.

He said, “Okay, guys, we need to talk about this — this is exactly why I don’t like collecting free stuff.
“You’re selling nkwobi, then out of nowhere you give me free nkwobi. I didn’t ask, but you insisted. I accept it, eat it, and enjoy it.

“Now suddenly, you want me to return the favour — you’re asking me to give you Rema? Because of free nkwobi? How does that even add up? It’s the exchange rate for me!

“Please, nobody should give me gifts again. I’m not interested. Thanks and goodbye.”

The light-hearted story has drawn laughter from fans, while highlighting Don Jazzy’s witty approach to managing fame and expectations.
