Popular gospel singer Yinka Ayefele has clarified that he is indeed the biological father of his triplets, addressing rumors that suggested otherwise.
During an appearance on the ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’ show, hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, Ayefele explained that while it is rare for men with spinal cord injuries to father children, he is an exception.
The host, Bae U Barbie, expressed his curiosity, saying, “I’m shocked you said you have three beautiful and amazing kids. My question is, how did you do it?”
In response, Ayefele said, “How did I do what? Curious that I impregnated my wife? How did I get three kids? You would have seen pregnant women before. I impregnated my wife and she got pregnant and had triplets. You thought I bought them? I don’t understand what you mean. I know you are curious, you want to talk about my spinal cord injury. Anybody who has a spinal cord injury might not be able to impregnate a lady. Yeah, it’s a fact, it’s one out of a hundred.”
Ayefele became famous after surviving a severe accident on December 12, 1997, which almost ended his life. He recalled a moment in the hospital that marked a turning point in his recovery.
“After the accident, everyone jubilated when I had an erection one afternoon. I was wondering why they were rejoicing and they told me the doctors said I would not be able to have an erection again. They had concluded without my knowledge,” he said.
He admitted that life would have been meaningless had he not regained the ability to have an erection. Throughout his recovery, his girlfriend at the time, Temitope Titilope, who later became his wife, stood by his side.
“She didn’t leave me when I was hospitalised, so why would she leave me afterward? When things were bad, she was with me all through. We got married after the accident and we are blessed with four boys,” Ayefele added.
